Hello, hello! Welcome to the grand opening of “Shimmer”, my first solo attempt at a full-colored web manga. Some of you might know me from hanging at my joint-effort work, Wayrift. Well, this little side story works in the same universe, just a different time.
Anyone who knows either of my two stories, Dreigiau or Darkstar will be familiar with a great number of characters in this manga. Suffice to say that this is somewhat of the “missing link” between the two pieces. However, as noted below, if you aren’t familiar with either of these stories (or FFIV), do not fret. There’s no required knowledge needed before reading “Shimmer”. It would just make it a richer experience if you did know! 
Okay. So here’s our current narrator, Aur — floating in a sort of mind-rift of space. I’m not exactly sure how long he’s been asleep, but it’s been a pretty long bit of time. We’re talking millennia.
He’s been given the form of a little boy, though it’s doubtful that one of his kind have ever had a physical body before — the reason for this will be explained in a few pages. His true origins aren’t something that can really be pinpointed — nor do I want to give too much away.
All you really need to know is that Aur is currently the servant of Zemi Dreigiau. Who’s Zemi? You’ll see soon enough. ^_^
